Unexpected Creativity!
Jul. 15th, 2008 10:28 pmSo, I was sitting around, and thinking about working on Inix, and though I changed my icon on the Inix forums today, I wasn't really all that happy with it; it was from my vast collection of Livejournal icons, and it's cool, but I was thinking I needed something more...steampunky.
So I pulled up Photoshop, and a bunch of pictures of gears and such that I have saved, and started noodling around. Eventually I came up with this, and I was pretty happy. I cropped it off into a couple of icon-sized pieces, and made some for banners too.
And then I looked at it some more, and thought, "you know, that would actually be kinda awesome as a wallpaper." I'd actually found a link to a site earlier today called www.steampunkwallpapers.com, but wasn't terribly impressed with what they had up there.
I poked around in Photoshop some more, and after maybe an hour and a half, I came up with this, and was quite pleased. It's on my desktop now, and I'm going to submit it to dA, I think, as soon as I have internet again.
It's definitely not the type of thing I usually do, but it was really refreshing nonetheless. It's good to experiment a little. I really need to get back into digital painting... but without a scanner there's not a lot I can do at the moment.
Ah well.
And now, I should probably think about eating something...
(Edited to include the dA link)
