A brief scene from today's class:
KATHY: So, I'm just going around and checking how far along everybody is. How many full spreads do you have done?
STUDENT #1: Uh, none yet.
STUDENT #2: About...two?
STUDENT #3: One.
ME: ....seven?
So, uh, yeah. Apparently I'm a lot farther along than anybody else in the class. (And I finished one picture today, so now I'm at 8/17 drawings complete.) It seems my freakish working speed is at work once again. But really, if we're halfway through the project, and have a bit less than two weeks remaining to get all these images complete, shouldn't you have that many done already? Or at least close? I thought I was on schedule, not vastly ahead.
It doesn't seem we're going to be getting a delay in critique time, though, although we're almost certainly getting one for Illustration. The project is due next Monday, but I'm really the only one who's got more than a half-finished sketch on paper, so....yeah. Delayed until Wednesday, I'm pretty sure.
Sometimes I wonder how people get things done at all, at that rate.
Things have generally been fairly productive, in any case. My illustration is about half done, and if we get two more class periods that should be more than enough to finish. Watercolor is likely on schedule; I started up the third painting yesterday after our midpoint critique, and should finish that this weekend, although I do think I will have to sacrifice doing a new piece for Masterpiece in a Day in order to do so. I'll start the next piece next Monday and finish it up over the weekend, if all goes well.
Also I got my mini-paper done for Baroque Art History today, (in all of 45 minutes!) and that is good. It means tomorrow I can slack off and play Brawl instead of doing homework. I got the first test back from Asian Art History too, and did pretty well there.
And it looks like IUPUI is finally putting my refund money through, so I will actually have funds.
Good times.
Now to eat dinner, and then... I will either continue to work ridiculously ahead on the Children's Book project and do another few sketches, or I will play Wii. Or possibly I will just finish my book.
Decisions, decisions.
