Break? What break?
Mar. 17th, 2009 05:17 pmProgress continues apace. Yesterday I got pencil drawings done for two paintings, one for watercolor with a probable title of "Counting Crows" (with the real title being Super Driftwood Painting of Doom!) and the other a cover for Neverwhere involving lots of arches. Today I managed to locate the pen and ink nibs that I bought like two years ago* (they were inexplicably in a compartment in my acrylics toolbox) and so could proceed to ink both of them.
I'm pretty pleased with the results. I think I'll wait to start painting the watercolor piece until class resumes, mostly because this week's CHOW is a very interesting prompt and I want to spend time on that, although I'm still undecided whether I want to do it in watercolor or digital. Since the image involves lots of glowing things, it will probably be digital.
Still. Good to have things moving again. I need to spend some time probably later this evening or tomorrow working on finishing up my digital piece, and I'd like to get at least the pencil drawing done for the Through Wolf's Eyes cover by the end of the week as well.
There will also undoubtedly be more time spent playing StarCraft. I will beat mission 7! Grr.
So yes. For now, a break, some 'lunch', and then perhaps a jaunt outside before the lovely weather disappears completely.
*Nothing in art is never wasted. I cannot stress enough how many times I have bought some random supply intending to do something with it, never got around to doing that thing, and then two or three years later suddenly realized "Wait! I need this and this, and... yes, I have it!"
